New York Distilling Company is a Brooklyn-based craft distillery co-founded by Allen Katz, one of the nation’s leading experts on distilled spirits, and Tom Potter, who founded and served as CEO and Board Chair of Brooklyn Brewery. In 2022, after securing a new 10,000 square foot space in the trendy Bushwick neighborhood, NYDC turned to August Point Advisors for help with realizing their vision for a new flagship distillery.
We began by developing the capital budget for design and construction of the new facility, along with an operational pro forma for the onsite guest experience, which includes a bar, restaurant, tours and event space. We then created pitch materials, co-presented with ownership to lead institutional investors, and secured follow-on funding for a series of key initiatives.
Serving as project managers, we oversaw the design, development, construction and launch of the new facility in Fall 2023.
